Award-winning website design, honestly described
Our creative advisor, Atul Khola, led the team that won Awwwards Site of the Day and The FWA's FWA of the Month. He brings that standard to every studio project. Here is what that standard takes, and what you can buy from us today.
Whose work this is: The awards on this page were won by the Why Zero website, made by the team Atul Khola led at Zero with BUNQ LABS as development partner. Atul is non boring.gg's creative advisor. Zero is not a studio client, and the studio's own projects have not been entered for awards yet.
The record
Why Zero is a scrolling, interactive story for Zero, an AI-native learning and hiring platform. These are the main recognitions, each linked to the awarding body's own page:
Atul's site lists more than 20 recognitions in total, counting nominations and gallery features. The award pages credit the site and its makers by name; the full credits are on the Why Zero page.
What the juries score
It helps to know what an award measures before deciding you want one. Awwwards scores a site on design, usability, creativity and content; Why Zero's Site of the Day score was 7.73 out of 10. Its separate Developer Award looks at animation, performance, accessibility, responsive behaviour and markup. CSS Design Awards judges UI, UX and innovation; the jury gave Why Zero 8.90.
None of those criteria is "did it sell the product". An award tells you a site is well made and original. Whether it does its job is a different question, and one you should ask us as well.
What it took
Three things, in this order.
- An argument. The site makes one case, that the degree no longer leads to the job, in six stages. The story was written before anything was drawn.
- Finished visual material. Concept, storyboards and visual direction were done in-house, so the developers started from decisions and not from a mood board.
- A specialist build. The developers describe a four-month build in Three.js, GLSL shaders and GSAP, and report cutting more than a gigabyte of source assets down to a site under 10MB that runs at 60fps on a budget Android phone.
That is not a two-week project, and we will not tell you it is.
When this is the right site for a startup
Usually later than founders think. We fetched the homepage of every YC 2026 company, 705 sites: 61% lead with "AI" and only 18% link to a pricing page. Most early sites do not need spectacle; they need to say what the product is in ten seconds and stop looking like the other 704. The data is in State of YC startup design 2026, and the homepage grader checks your site against the same signals for free.
A narrative, interactive site earns its cost when the company has an argument to make and attention is the constraint: a category nobody understands yet, a launch that has to travel, a brand that recruits. Zero was that case.
What you can buy from us
Three sizes, all with public prices.
- Launch Sprint ($12,000, 2 weeks): one clear, well-made landing page. Not an award entry, and not meant to be.
- Brand + Site ($22,000, 5–6 weeks): identity and marketing site together.
- Websites, open scope, $12,000–$40,000: custom motion and interaction in Framer or Webflow, or designed for your Next.js codebase.
A WebGL narrative on the scale of Why Zero needs a specialist development partner alongside us and sits above that range. We scope it per project and say so on the first call.
The work behind this page
work · led by our creative advisor · not studio client work
Zero · 2026 · Head of Design & Experience: concept and design direction
An interactive story site for Zero, an AI-native learning and hiring platform. Concept, storyboards and visual direction came from Zero's in-house design team under Atul Khola; BUNQ LABS built it. It was named Awwwards Site of the Day and FWA of the Month.
Zero · 2025 onwards · Head of Design & Experience
Atul Khola joined Zero as the third person in the company and spent about a year and a half designing the product from a blank file, building a 12-person Design & Experience team, and shaping the brand, the investor story and the launch.

Questions
Has non boring.gg won an Awwwards award?
No. The studio is new and has not entered its own work yet. Our creative advisor, Atul Khola, led design on the Why Zero website at Zero, which won Awwwards Site of the Day on 7 September 2026 and a Developer Award. That award belongs to the site and its makers, not to the studio.
What did the Why Zero website win?
Awwwards Site of the Day and Developer Award; The FWA's FWA of the Month for July 2026 and FWA of the Day; CSS Design Awards Website of the Day on 11 August 2026 plus public awards for UI, UX and Innovation; and Orpetron Site of the Month for July 2026. Each is linked on this page.
Who built Why Zero?
Concept, storyboards and design direction came from Zero's in-house design team, led by Atul Khola. Development was by BUNQ LABS, an external studio. Codrops published the developers' account of the build with full credits.
How much does an award-level website cost?
Our website work runs $12,000–$40,000, and a Launch Sprint landing page is $12,000. A months-long WebGL build with a specialist developer costs more than that range; we quote it per project and do not publish a figure for work the studio has not yet delivered.
How long does a site like that take?
The Why Zero developers describe a four-month build, after the concept and storyboards were done. For comparison, our Launch Sprint is 2 weeks for a landing page and Brand + Site is 5–6 weeks.
Will an award-winning site get us customers?
Not by itself. Juries score design, usability, creativity and content, not sales. An award brings attention from designers, developers and the press, which helps with hiring and reputation. Zero's 10,000-person waitlist came from acquisition work, ads and landing pages, as much as from the brand.
