Brand identity for startups that want to be remembered
Naming, wordmark, type, colour and a brand system that makes the product recognisable before anyone reads a word.
When you need this
- You're launching and the name, mark and voice aren't decided.
- The product has outgrown a logo made in a weekend.
- You look like every other company in your category.
What's included
- Positioning and the one sentence the brand is built on
- Wordmark and mark, with a type pairing and colour system
- Voice: how the brand talks, with examples
- Brand system in Figma: layouts, motion principles, social and deck templates
- A guidelines page your team and future agencies can use
How it runs
Fixed scope, fixed price, paid in milestones. Weekly cycles: you see real work in week one and every week after. A daily async update and one live review a week in your time zone. The people on the first call do the work.
Pricing
Brand identity engagements run $15,000–$35,000. Across all services our average engagement is around $20,000. How we price →
Questions
How much does startup branding cost?
$15,000–$35,000 with us. For comparison, Metabrand and Condensed publish $15k–50k ranges; Ramotion, Clay and Koto sit well above.
How long does it take?
Four to six weeks from kickoff to a usable system. Naming adds one to two weeks.
Do we need a full brand before product-market fit?
Usually not. A wordmark, a type pair and a colour system are enough to ship; we'll tell you if that's all you need.
Do you do naming?
Yes, including trademark screening at the shortlist stage.
Will it work in product, not just on a deck?
That's the point: we design the brand and the product system together so the two don't drift.
Do you build the website too?
Often, as a second phase. See Websites.
What files do we get?
Everything: Figma source, exported assets, fonts (licensed to you), guidelines.
Can you rebrand without alienating existing users?
Yes; we plan the transition, including in-product changes and the announcement.
Do you work with founders directly?
Yes. Branding needs a decision-maker in the room; we ask for one.
What makes a brand memorable?
A point of view and a way of moving, speaking and looking that couldn't be swapped with the nearest competitor. Useful is the bare minimum.
